Orange basil cookies

Title: Orange Basil Cookies

1/3 c Butter
9 oz Cream cheese
1 Egg yolk
1 tb Orange juice
18 oz Orange cake mix
1 ts Orange zest; grated
1 c Raisins
1/2 c Walnuts; chopped
2 tb Dried basil
Recipe by: Cranbrook Reflections, A Culinary Collection
Mix together the butter, cream cheese, egg yolk and orange juice. Add
dry cake mix; stir in orange zest, raisins, walnuts and basil. Chill dough.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees; butter cookie sheets. Roll chilled dough into
1/2-inch balls and place on cookie sheets. Flatten each ball with a fork.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. For a bit of artistry, attach a small paper or
silk leaf using a dab of confectioner's sugar icing. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
Penny Halsey (ATBN65B). Variation: Lemon cake mix and 1 tablespoon
frozen orange juice concentrate can be substituted for the orange cake mix
and orange juice.
