Rock cookies

Title: Rock Cookies

Yield: 48 servings
2/3 c Butter
1 c Brown sugar
2 Eggs
2 c Flour
1 1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Ground cloves
1 ts Baking powder*
8 oz Raisins
8 oz Chopped dates
1 c Chopped nuts
* dissolved in a little warm water.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, cream butter with sugar
and eggs until fluffy.
In a separate bowl, sift flour with cinnamon and cloves.
Slowly beat flour into butter and sugar. Add the dissolved baking soda.
Stir in raisins, dates and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking
sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
Yield: 4 dozen.
