1 cup New Orleans molasses (dark)
1/2 cup Brown sugar
1/2 cup Oil
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Cloves
1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Ginger
1 cup boiling water
2 1/2 cups Flour -- unsifted
1 teaspoon Baking soda
Blend together the first 7 ingred. and stir in the boiling water.
Mix in the unsifted flour. Dissolve the baking soda in 2 T. of hot water; add
to batter. Pour into a greased 8x8x2" cake pan. Bake 30 min. at 350F.
